Woo-Hoo! Vacation time has finally arrived! Rom and I are off to the UK for a week. We leave tonight on the overnight direct flight to Gatwick. Tomorrow will be a write-off so we’re just going to go shopping and out to lunch in Guildford for as long as we can stay awake. We’re spending Saturday and Sunday in London and we have a full agenda of things to see and do. Rom is from Southeast England and this will be my 4th trip to the UK so we have no need to do everything – we’ll be back! From Sunday to Wednesday we’ll be visiting family in Rom’s home town. While in the area, we hope to take a steam train ride on the Bluebell Railway, and poke around Royal Tunbridge Wells. I am psyched!
You’ll see in the photos that a lot of recreational shopping is planned – I do zero of this at home, and save up for vacations. I have every intention of buying cute robot toys and T-shirts at every opportunity. I’m also looking forward to trying out some fine vegetarian restaurants in London. And, I hope to sneak some rhubarb custard candies back home in my luggage!
On previous trips to London, I have been to Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, a walk down The Mall to Buckingham Palace, The Globe, the Tate Modern (twice), a production of Warhorse, to Camden Town, and a Patrick Wolf concert 🙂
While I’m travelling I will have partial/limited/no Internet access, so I’ll check in as I am able.
